Our Work Literacy is essential for individual and community success. Read Write Spell works to ensure that every child in Forsyth County learns to read. Our research-based approach is scientifically proven to be more effective, for more children, than traditional literacy instruction.

Program utilizes a structured,
multisensory, phonetic teaching
approach. This program focuses
on the five essential components
of research-based reading
instruction: phonemic awareness,
phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and
comprehension.

Due to the increased need for volunteer tutors to help students in the fall created by learning loss related to remote learning, all tutor fees will be waived for 2021.

As space permits, individuals who will not tutor a
Read Write Spell student (live out of the area or
those who want to train without a commitment)
may complete this training for $525

Our Students

We serve public school children in targeted WS/FCS schools who struggle with reading or written language. We accept referrals from teachers, parents/guardians, and curriculum coordinators.
