READWS is pleased to announce that we have received a grant from the Winston-Salem Foundation to hire Site Coordinators to serve as mentors to our 150+ tutors.

We are excited to announce that READWS received a grant from the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust to provide structured literacy training to 120 educators over the next two years.

OGI Basic Training Summer 2018
(5 days, 40-hours)

What: 5-Day Yoshimoto Orton Gillingham International training focusing on a data driven, clinical, multi-sensory, phonetic, teacher-guided approach to teaching reading, writing and spelling in whole classroom, small group and one-to-one settings.

For Whom: This class is designed for kindergarten, primary, elementary & middle school classroom teachers, tutors, reading specialists, special ed teachers and home-school parents.

Cost: $750/person – price includes light snacks and all materials

OGI TrainingTrainer: Henri D. Brown, OGI Certified Master Trainer for NC

Augustine Literacy Project New Tutor Training

Tutor one child. Change two lives. Join the over 150 Augustine tutors in our community who are changing lives, one lesson at a time. READWS will train and support you, giving you and your student the tools for success.

Upcoming training dates:

  • Winter 2019 Class: 7-day training
    Meets on Jan. 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, 31, Feb. 1
    Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Workshop fee is $250 for those who commit to tutor a low-income child for at least 60 sessions.
