Our program is dedicated to helping low-income students in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County community increase their literacy skills. Your donations provide the resources to:
- train and support our volunteer tutors
- provide parent education regarding reading and pre-reading skills
- provide Orton-based educator training
- support advocacy for struggling readers
READWS is an outreach mission of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. In addition, many other individuals, schools, foundations, faith-based and civic groups join with St. Paul’s as tutors, donors, supporters and advocates.
We are not a group that gives out mugs or t-shirts. Instead when you contribute, you join our READWS family — a family who knows that solid language skills are a prerequisite for academic success and economic stability.
Please donate by sending a check to:
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
520 Summit Street
Winston-Salem, NC 27101
Please make the check out to St. Paul’s and put READWS on the memo line. 100% of your gift is tax-deductible.
